CPU welcomes students from around the world. We provide dedicated support for international applicants throughout the admissions process, including guidance on visa requirements, English proficiency, and credential evaluation.

Additional Requirements for International Students
- All standard admission requirements for the chosen program
- Official English translation of all foreign transcripts
- Credential evaluation by an approved agency (WES, ECE, etc.)
- TOEFL score of 61+ (iBT) or IELTS score of 6.0+ or equivalent
- Proof of financial support (bank statements, affidavit of support)
- Copy of valid passport
- Transfer of SEVIS record (for students currently in the U.S.)
- I-20 request form (issued upon admission and financial verification)
Visa Information
F-1 Student Visa
CPU is authorized to issue I-20 forms for F-1 student visa applicants. After admission and financial verification, the International Student Office will issue your I-20, which you will use to apply for the F-1 visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
Maintaining F-1 Status
F-1 students must maintain full-time enrollment (12+ credits undergraduate, 9+ credits graduate), make satisfactory academic progress, and report any changes in address or program to the International Student Office.
English Proficiency Waivers
English proficiency test scores may be waived for applicants who have completed a degree at an English-medium institution, successfully completed an approved ESL program, or are citizens of English-speaking countries.
