Cal Grant
The Cal Grant program is a California state financial aid program that provides grants to eligible California resident students attending qualifying colleges and universities. CPU participates in the Cal Grant program.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Be a California resident for at least one year
- Attend a qualifying California college or university
- Have financial need (determined by FAFSA)
- Meet minimum GPA requirements (3.0 for Cal Grant A, 2.0 for Cal Grant B)
- Not already have a bachelor's or professional degree
- Be enrolled at least half-time
- Complete FAFSA and Cal Grant GPA Verification by March 2 deadline
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
Cal Grant A covers tuition and fee costs. Cal Grant B provides a living allowance and, after the first year, also covers tuition and fees. Award amounts are determined by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC).
